... and occasional Tanka. Started after a competition on the unbound.co.uk blog (see #1 and #2). This year attempting to write a Haiku every day using a seasonal kigo - 366 Haiku a Day.
Snoozy afternoon,
Late summer sun dipping down.
Boy unaffected.
First Autumn rain day,
Constant drizzle soaks your soul.
Single colour sky.
Return of grey days
I was going to write on.
Then the sun came out.
Swiftly my blood flows,
As the stream past our house goes,
When you touch my hand.
Gently my blood flows,
As the brook past our house goes,
When you are here too.
Sun through the window
Heats my feet, glows my toes and
Gently, my blood flows.
Sun through the window,
Nearly touches an old toy.
Miss him every day.
Warms toy he abandoned.
Miss him when he’s gone.
The weeds hide the crime,
Parting for you, drawing back,
Forever silent.
Petals on water
Widen out then draw back in,
Keep her secret safe.
Quietly call down
Toward the towns and cities.
Song of the small road.
Part willingly to aid you
Hide your sisters' crime.
