... and occasional Tanka. Started after a competition on the unbound.co.uk blog (see#1 and #2).
Memories of cheese
Bubbling in the red glow.
Grill nostalgia grips.
Grill warms me right through,
Sounds and smells bring a smile.
Escape from the cold.
Lamb chops sizzling,
Marinade smells fill the air,
Grill warmth on my face.
The low down winter
Sun blocks more than the landscape.
Never saw it come.
Questioning why I
Packed my sunglasses away.
Low winter sunshine.
The live Blood Red sky
Infects me with its madness,
Coils into me.
Memories stand tall,
Block the forking paths ahead.
You hold the power.
The Titan crushes
Me under his foot today
More ebbing than flow.
Light in Darkness sees
And banishes the monsters.
Keep peace-hope alive.
‘Neath a Blood Red sky,
He lets rip to the heavens.
The Scream of Nature.
Little flutters fall,
Disappear on arrival.
First snow of the year.
New Year’s first dream night,
Attended by the dream beast -
Please eat all our woes.
New Year, New Lockdown,
No dreams to see me on through -
The bells just toll doom.
